Welwyn Garden City man arrested after crash on A414 in Hatfield

A man has been arrested after a car ploughed into the central reservation on the A414.

John Tuvey, 19, of Lumbards, Welwyn Garden City, has been charged with taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, driving otherwise than in accordance with a license, driving without insurance, careless driving and failing to report an accident.

The crash happened around midday on Saturday, April 25.

A black Ford collided with the central reservation between the Holwell roundabout and Hatfield.

It is alleged that the car was taken from a property off Ridgeway, Welwyn Garden City.

It is also alleged the driver of the vehicle left the scene prior to police arrival.

Tuvey is due to appear at Central West Herts Magistrates’ Court on May 12.
