Welwyn Garden City Library to hold Shakespeare play

Welwyn Garden City Library will be hosting a performance of Shakespeare’s Hamlet as it has never been seen before.

The performance of ‘The Book’s the Thing’ by Librarian Theatre is being shown at the Campus West library at 7.30pm tomorrow (Saturday). There will also be performances at libraries across Hertfordshire throughout April.

The hour-long play performed by a cast of three has been newly adapted from the original text by Tom Cuthbertson and Kelly Eva-May.

Taryn Pearson of Hertfordshire County Council said: “We’re very excited to be hosting The Book’s the Thing. These performances are just one of the exciting ways that Hertfordshire County Council’s libraries are working to engage with local communities.”

Tickets cost £7 for adults and £4 for concessions and can be purchased at www.hertsdirect.org/libraries

They are also available on the door subject to availability.
