A FOOD company has been fined �14,000 after pleading guilty to polluting a local river.
Ambala Foods, of Watchmead, WGC, admitted allowing polluting matter to enter a branch of the River Colne between September 22 and October 9 last year.
The company, which describes itself as a producer of quality Asian food and confectionery, was convicted at a hearing at West Hertfordshire Magistrates Court in Watford yesterday (Monday).
