Welwyn Garden City fire crew kept busy.


The Welwyn Garden City fire service was called out to two separate reports of fires in the same hour.

Yesterday at 4.21pm the fire service received a call to reports of a fire in the garden of a domestic property on The Crescent, Welwyn.

Herts Fire Control tweeted: “A crew from Welwyn Garden City attended. On their arrival the crew found this to be controlled burning.”

In the same hour at 4.49pm the Welwyn Garden City crew attended a property in Hyde Valley, after reports came in of an open fire.

A spokesman for Hertfordshire Country Council said: “A crew attended to discover it was a false emergency and was actually a controlled fire.”
