The flag is flying at half mast at the Welwyn Garden City fire station today in honour of an ex-firefighter, whose funeral is taking place.

Station Commander Sean Comerford tweeted: “HFRS Service flag at half mast over WGC station today as we mark the passing of our ex Deputy Chief Fire Officer and Service Chaplain, John Potipher.

“Crews will be parading as his funeral cortège passes the station this afternoon.”
