Welwyn Garden City woman given suspended sentence and lengthy driving ban

A Welwyn Garden City woman has been banned from driving after drink driving not long after a previous ban.
Elaine Warby, 30, had only recently finished a ban for alcohol-related driving when she got behind the wheel again while over the limit on May 11.
Warby was caught driving a Vauxhall Astra on London Road in Woolmer Green when she had 84 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Warby had no insurance or licence.
On May 10, she had also been driving dangerously on London Road.
The court heard how damage had been caused and she had tried to make off before being stopped by members of the public.
Warby, of Ley Walk, was given a 12-week jail term, suspended for 12 months.
She must comply with the instructions of a responsible officer for up to 20 days.
The court gave her a driving ban of 3.5 years.
She must pay compensation of £1,000, which will come out of her benefits.
