DOGGING is not a problem in Welwyn Hatfield despite parts of the area being listed as a “hotspot” for exhibitionist sex sessions.

Last week a tweet from a website called Let’s Go Dogging claimed WGC was a “dogging hotspot” because it had a new member.

In February the site also tweeted how a WGC woman called ‘Holly’ had also joined.

And another website, Swinging Heaven, listed four Welwyn Hatfield sites, including Stanborough Park and the Galleria car park, as prime locations for lewd acts in cars.

For the uninitiated, Dogging involves performing sordid sex acts in cars, with strangers watching for perverse gratification.

Swinging Heaven said of the Stanborough Park site: “There are two car-parks.

“A huge one on the right which is very busy at weekends.

“The car-park on left very busy during weeknights after 10.30pm.

“Both are great dogging locations [sic].”

And of Digswell car park the site said: “On B1000 just before the viaduct, as you drive towards Welwyn village park opposite. The carpark is busy after dark [sic].”

It also names Valley Road, in Codicote, as a prime location, and one the site it said: “Some action there most nites secluded area [sic].”

But Inspector Ian Grout, who is based at Hatfield Police Station, said: “We have not [had] any specific complaints about this issue in relation to Stanborough Park or the other locations.

“If we received complaints we would investigate and patrol accordingly.”
