Police are investigating after Welwyn Garden City diners shut the door on a delivery driver’s face and told him to ‘go away’ without paying for their meals.

Police were called at 7.20pm last night to reports of a theft that had taken place in Howlands, Welwyn Garden City.

The Hatfield based Chinese takeaway Happy Valley delivered takeaway food to an address where two men took the food and shut the door on the delivery driver without paying.

The driver knocked repeatedly on the door and was reportedly told to ‘go away’.

Police are currently investigating further,
