As well as enjoying a selection of songs – ranging from old favourites to new arrangements – visitors will be treated to wine, a free buffet and soft drinks afterwards.

A spokesman said: “Welwyn Garden City Male Voice Choir was founded in 1935 by expatriate miners, mainly from South Wales, who had moved to our area for work.

“The choir, about 35-strong at this time, sings a varied mix of songs including spirituals, songs from the shows, some 20th century pieces and a handful of songs in Welsh, maintaining a link back to the choir’s origins.

“Almost all of our dozen or so concerts each year are for the benefit of local good causes.”
