A Welwyn Garden City nursery has been awash with pinks and reds as the children celebrated love and friendship in preparation for Valentine’s Day today.

Children at Rowan Tree Day Nursery, in Guessens Road, have been busy decorating cards for their mums and dads as well as enjoying a range of activities including moulding chocolate scented dough.

The children also baked Valentine’s goodies, including the creation of love-heart biscuits.

Preschool have been making Cooking Boxes to take home which included the ingredients to make a Valentine’s baking recipe to continue the fun and learning.

Nursery manager Claire Ovenden said: “The promotion of friendship is something that we encourage throughout a child’s journey with us at Rowan Tree.

“Valentine’s celebrations are an ideal opportunity to explore the importance of friendship further, in a meaningful way.

“We know parents value the lovely poems and handcrafted cards created for them and are a lovely gift at this time of year.”
