A GREETINGS cards and gift shop in WGC has closed.
Birthdays, in the Howard Centre, closed for good today (Saturday), after the company decided not to renew its lease.
Peter Brooks, manager of the Howard Centre, said: “Birthdays came to the end of their lease and decided not to renew their contract.
“We’ll be sad to see them go. They’ve been in the centre for some time and it’s always nice to retain traders.”
Mr Brook confirmed that the unit, next to the Howard Centre main entrance, will now be taken over by Carphone Warehouse.
“It will be Carphone Warehouse, but in what form we’re not yet sure,” he said.
“Carphone Warehouse also trade under Wireless World, selling more electronic gadgets than mobile phones, and we’ll be speaking to them soon about their plans.
“We’ll know fairly shortly.”
A spokeswoman for Carphone Warehouse declined to comment on what type of store the company was planning.
