A PUBLIC car park which is operating without permission will be forced to close if councillors agree to take action tonight (Thursday).
The former Roche car park off Broadwater Road, WGC, is currently being operated as a public car park, but has not had the appropriate permission to change it from private to public use.
Welwyn Hatfield councillors are set to decide whether enforcement action should be taken.
In a report to the planning committee it states: “In February an anonymous complaint was received regarding the use of the former Roche Products car park. “On inspection it was noted banner signs had been put up advertising the land as a public car park for the station and town centre.” Councillors are set to agree to serve an enforcement notice and take legal action if the matter is not resolved.
