A Welwyn Garden City driver has spoken to the Welwyn Hatfield Times about how his “serious” car accident has prompted him to cherish every moment.
Police were called at 4.19pm on Saturday, February 20 to reports of a Ford Focus that had overturned on Hertford Road, Digswell, near Sherrardswood School.
The driver, Adam Taylor, 30, was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital where he was treated for muscle damage to his shoulder and back, but otherwise remained in good health.
Adam was driving back from his boxing training session in Hitchin to his home in Welwyn Garden City, when the accident occurred.
He added: “I am very lucky to be alive.”
Adam’s fiancée, Lisa Begbie, said: “I rang him because he was late home and a policeman answered.
“They told me to stay where I was. They came and collected me and blue-lighted me to the hospital. I’m very thankful to everyone.
“I didn’t think he was going to come home.”
Adam and Lisa have now arranged to get married in October 2017 after the accident encouraged them to cherish every moment.
