Police are hunting a convicted Welwyn Garden City burglar who has given probation officers the slip after getting released from prison on licence.

Welwyn Garden City man Nigel Jones, 38, has broken his release terms by failing to keep probation appointments, so police want to return him to custody.

Jones was sentenced to four years and nine months imprisonment for attempting to break into a home in Beechwood Avenue, St Albans in December, 2013, although no property was taken.

He was released from prison on May 5, but has failed to attend any probation appointments so his licence has been revoked.

Anyone who sees Jones, who also has connections in Hatfield and Milton Keynes, or has information about him, should call police on 101.
