A Welwyn Garden City-based charity is encouraging residents to take part in its popular nine Bridges of London fundraiser.

Isabel Hospice, which provides support for adults with life-limiting illnesses, will hold the event on September 24.

Participants will be taken along a route overlooking the Thames and past some famous London landmarks, including the Tower of London, the Shard, HMS Belfast, the Palace of Westminster and the London Eye.

Hatfield’s Rosemary Turner has been supporting the hospice since 2007, when her husdband Robert passed away after being cared for the charity’s staff.

She said: “The reason for me taking part is that I lost my husband to pancreatic cancer 10 years ago and although my husband was only in Isabel Hospice for one day before passing away, they were so kind and made his last hours comfortable for him.

“Isabel Hospice staff are a wonderful group of people.”

To sponsor Rosemary visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rosemary-stanley-turner.
The event costs £20 per adult and £10 per child, which covers a coach from Sir Frederic Osborne School in Welwyn Garden City on the day.

For participants who want to arrange their own transport and meet in Battersea Park it only costs £8 each.

To sign up visit www.isabelhospice.org.uk or call 01707 382500.
