A Welwyn Garden City based charity is hosting remembrance ceremonies for friends and families to celebrate and remember those they have loved and lost.
Isabel Hospice, based in Welwyn Garden City, has held annual Lights of Love remembrance ceremonies for over 10 years.
This year the hospice has released a new online book, a Book of Love, where family members can make dedications and remember loved ones with a photo and a personal message in advance of the ceremonies.
Laura Pigott, community fundraiser for Isabel Hospice, said: “Our ceremonies will be held as usual in the eight locations in November and December and at each ceremony there is a Book of Love where all the names of those who had a dedication made to them are listed. We will still have this book there, but this year, dedications can be made on our online book too.”
The local ceremonies will be held at the Hatfield Galleria on November 19, at 4pm, and at The Green, Campus West on Saturday, November 26, at 4pm.
During each ceremony there will be readings and carols, and at the end, the tree will be lit, with each light upon it, symbolic of those loved and lost.
At the ceremony you can write a message on a silver star to hang on the tree or take the star home and the names of those who have had a dedication made to them will be on show in the Book of Love.
You can make a Lights of Love dedication at www.isabelhospice.org.uk or call 01707 382500.
Other ceremonies are in Bishop’s Stortford and Sawbridgeworth.
