Paintings and photographs by Welwyn Garden City Art Club have gone on display in a new exhibition in the town.

Councillor Les Page opened the show on Thursday and handed out awards to three artists who were judged to be winners of the competition.

First prize was awarded to A Study in Sanguine 2 by Christine Magee, while Hong Kong Lights by Judy Bywater and Thames Barge at Pinn Mill, Suffolk by John Isley were highly commended.

As well as the paintings, there are ceramics by Hazel Green and an exhibition of 10 photographs by Ann Gillman-Smith on display.

The exhibition will run until April 5.
