Staff at Welwyn Garden City’s New QEII and Stevenage’s Lister Hospital thanked patients for their support as services returned to normal today.

Following Friday’s cyber attacks, a statement on East and North Herts NHS Trust’s website confirmed that although tests are still continuing, all hospital appointments will go ahead as planned.

It continues: “The trust’s phlebotomy clinics at the Lister, New QEII and Hertford County hospitals will reopen for walk-in, non-urgent blood tests from Monday, May 22 – with hours at the Lister clinic extended daily until 8.00pm from Monday, 22 May to Friday, 26 May.

“The diabetic eye screening and sleep unit services are now operating normally again. The out-of-hours GP service at the New QEII is for booked GP appointments only.

“The trust is very grateful for the support and understanding that it has received from patients and the wider public during this time, as our staff have worked very hard to return our IT systems to normal, whilst at the same time ensuring patients continued to receive high quality care.”
