A COUPLE are celebrating 60 years of marriage, in the village they have lived in for the past two decades.
Les and Frances Scott, of Mimram Road, Welwyn, married on July 2, 1949, and last Saturday celebrated their diamond anniversary with family and friends at their home.
Their son Michael flew over from Tasmania to be with his parents on the night.
Their daughter Chrissie, who lives in Wokingham, Surrey, also travelled to be with them.

"Everyone who knows this couple, know how much they have truly loved and supported each other over last 60 years," Chrissie said.
"They are an inspiration to the unity of marriage.
