Thousands of pounds worth of jewellery stolen in Welwyn burglary

Police are appealing for information after burglars stole a safe, two passports and some high value jewellery from a house in Welwyn.

A Herts Police spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “Police are investigating a burglary that took place in Mardley Hill, Welwyn, on Tuesday, September 11.

“Between 7.30am and 8.15pm, one or more offenders gained entry to a house by damaging a side door.”

Burglars stole a pearl necklace, silver linked Rolex men’s watch, Tiffany earrings, pearl earrings, a gold chain with a diamond encrusted flower and some diamond earrings

•Anyone who saw what happened, or has information about the theft (including those who believe they have been offered the items for sale), should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/35925/18.
