A Welwyn-based dance group has hailed its fundraiser a “huge success” after garnering £230 for one of its members.
Kollection, which was set up by 23-year-old Jade Thomas, held the event for 15-year-old member Liberty Newbury, who as part of a school venture is set to volunteer in Cambodia.
It involved numerous dance groups putting on a show with styles ranging from hip-hop and line dancing to ballet and break dancing.
Liberty’s mum Laura Pugh and Jade of the show, and refreshments were sold during the interval to add to donations.
Following the event at Oaklands College, which saw 70 people attend, Jade told the WHT: “The event was a huge success with a number of dance schools from all over Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire turned up to take part in.
“Oakland’s college dance teacher Victoria was so kind to let us use her theatre which was amazing.”
