Hertfordshire County Council has launched a new website to tackle child sexual exploitation in the county.
It offers information and advice about the problem, including how to spot the signs of abuse and what to do if you suspect someone is being exploited.
The county council has been working together with Hertfordshire Constabulary and Hertfordshire Safeguarding Children Board to raise awareness of the crime across the community, and the new website is a go-to place for all the necessary information.
Latest figures from Herts police indicate that on average there are 10 new CSE referrals each month, which are investigated by the specialist HALO team.
Cllr Richard Roberts, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “Through prevention and education, we will work with our valued partners to take every possible step to ensure that children across the county grow up free from abuse and exploitation.”
