Sunbathers in Hatfield and WGC will have to pack away their loungers and wheel the barbecue into the shed before Herts’ wettest day at the end of month.

The East of England is expecting its rainiest day of the summer next week, with 1.65ins of rain expected.

To add insult to injury, it’s going to be on a Friday! July 28 to be precise.

Count your blessings we don’t live in Scotland, which is expecting the most rain this summer, with 3.1ins on Thursday, August 10.

The South East is expecting the least, according to the research from BuzzGreen, with 1.6ins expected on Wednesday, August 4.
