FREEZING conditions last month led to the number of burst water pipes tripling in Times Territory.
Veolia Water Central has announced a record 870 burst pipes were reported across the region in December, with calls to the Hatfield-based company increasing by 50 per cent.
“Our staff pulled out all the stops,” said Jo-Ann Lyon, head of operational contact at Veolia.
