Freezing conditions hit sporting fixtures across Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield

FROZEN pitches across Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield decimated sporting fixtures across the region over the weekend.

The whole of the Welwyn Hatfield Sunday Football League fixture list was postponed yesterday (Sunday), as was Welwyn Rugby Club’s Herts President’s Tankard clash with Datchworth at Hobbs Way.

It was a similar story on Saturday with all of WGC Hockey Club’s games at the Herts Sports Village being claimed by the weather as was WGC FC’s clash at Bedford and Hatfield Town’s match away to Leverstock Green.

New Codicote FC manager Liam Errington was set to lead his side for the first time at Gosling Stadium against Croxley Guild, however the conditions put paid to that.
