Police investigate after a man tries to get into a woman's car

A woman contacted police after a man tried to get into her car in Welwyn Garden City.

Police are looking for a man who tried to get into a parked car in the Woodhall Parade, Cole Green Lane at 3.34pm on Wednesday, February 10.

The woman in the car told the man to go away and locked the doors.

The man then approached a man in the street, before entering a newsagents and then leaving the area, heading in the direction of Hollybush Lane.

Police officers arrived on the scene and searched for the man, but could not find him.

The man is described as white, aged in his 30s and around 5ft 8ins tall. He was wearing a navy sweatshirt and dark jeans.

It is not clear why the man attempted to get into the car and it is possible he may have been under the influence of alcohol.

Police would like to speak with the man, and anyone else who has information about what happened, in order to establish the exact circumstances.
