Welwyn Hatfield residents have been warned that they temporarily will not be able to leave voicemails when calling the New QEII Hospital.

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, which runs the Welwyn Garden City hospital, put a message on its website explaining that maintenance work could affect the service until Friday.

The message says: “The telephone service at the New QEII will be going through an upgrade over the next few days to address a number of faults.

“It is expected that this work will be finished by Friday, 15 June at the latest, but we’ll keep you updated if that changes.

“During this period, the voicemail facility will not be available but very urgent messages can be sent to generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net.

“We hope to get the telephone service up and running again as quickly as possible, but in the meantime please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.”

A trust spokesman confirmed that residents can still call the hospital as normal – as it is only the voicemail facility that will been affected.
