A VITAL witness is being sought by police investigating a suspected hit-and-run.
Officers believe a white van driver stopped at the scene immediately after the crash in which a cyclist died.
Pc Denise Rayner said: "We are looking to speak to the driver of a white van who stopped immediately after the accident to get in touch.
"They could prove to be a vital witness."
Investigators are also keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the cyclist, a 47-year-old man from Hatfield, just before the crash.
The accident took place at around 9.15pm on Wednesday on the A414.

The bike rider was heading in the direction of Hertford close to the road's junction with Holwell Lane.
