ONE man is going to take care of some unfinished business by taking part in the Virgin London Marathon today (Sunday), which he originally meant to do 14 years ago.

Stuart McDonagh was not able to compete the first time he tried because he had not trained properly and was involved in a car accident.

The 44-year-old said: “I always used that as an excuse but it always stuck in my mind that I had to do it.

“It is like unfinished business.”

Stuart, who works as a personal trainer at Gosling Sports Park, in Stanborough Road, Welwyn Garden City, has prepared himself for the challenge by going on plenty of runs and building up the muscle in his legs.

Today he will not be raising money for a charity as he said he “did not need the extra pressure” but hopes the experience will help him when training his clients.

“I am really excited about it,” he added.
