A MAN was beaten and mugged in a daylight robbery in Hatfield.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after the violent street robbery on March 26.

The attack took place between 10am and 10.10am in Featherdell.

The victim, a man in his 20s from Hatfield, was approached by a group of men who threatened him.

They then assaulted him and stole “a small amount” of cash from his wallet.

The robbers fled across St Albans Road West and past the Swim Centre.

The victim was uninjured and no property was stolen.

Detective sergeant Andrew Boyer, from the Local Crime Unit, said: “This was an unpleasant ordeal for the victim.

“I am appealing for anyone with information, who witnessed the incident or saw a man running away from the alley at this time to come forward.

“You may have seen a number of men running off down St Albans Road West, near the Swim Centre.

“If so, please get in touch.

“I would also like to encourage anyone with any other information which may help solve this crime to contact me.”
