PLANS have been submitted for the construction of a block of flats and houses at a site in Brookmans Park.
Despite moves to build 12 new homes at a site in the village both ward councillors, including Welwyn Hatfield Council leader John Dean refused to comment on the plans, which are currently being consulted on.
Cllr Dean said: “I will have to delay comment till after the consultation period.”
And fellow Tory councillor Stephen Boulton said: “I can’t comment about this application as it may yet come to committee.”
The plan is for redevelopment of land at Green Close and Station Road to provide 12 new residential units comprising eight three bedroom houses, and three two-bedroom and one one-bedroom flats in a two to three storey block.
The application, submitted by Buckinghamshire firm MJG Investment Property, also seeks permission for car parking and “amenity terraces and balconies”.
And the plans would incluide works to alter and extend the adopted highway along with provision of surface car parking, landscaping and other “associated works”.
The consultation period ends on May 29.
