MORE than 2,500 was raised following a fire-breathing fundraiser for the Herts Air Ambulance.
Ten teams entered into the first ever dragon boat race on Stanborough Lakes in WGC, and organisers hope it will become an annual event.
The race, sponsored by WGC-based pharmaceutical company Roche, was opened by Welwyn hatfield mayor Kim Langely, and was won by Team BOW, a group comprised of workers from automotive company Ignition and design company TPS Display.
Nikki Caborn, Herts coordinator of Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust said: "We are thrilled that the first dragon boat race for Herts Air Ambulance was such a success.
"We would like to make this an annual event and look forward to making it bigger and better next year."
