Police hope for witnesses to the Swanley Bar accident

A young man is fighting for his life in hospital after a collision with a car between Brookmans Park and Potters Bar on Friday.

A Lithuanian man in his 20s was walking along Hawkshead Road, Swanley Bar, with another man when he was hit by a silver Audi A3 at about 4.50pm, near the junction with Bluebridge Road.

He was taken to a London hospital, where he is still “critically ill” according to police.

Police constable Dave Clarke said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who saw the men walking between Potters Bar Railway Station and where the collision occurred between 4pm and 4.50pm to please contact me.”

Anyone who saw the collision should call him on the non-emergency number 101.
