Updated: Roads closed after Welwyn Garden City crash

A WOMAN and three children have been hospitalised after a car crash this morning (Thursday).

Witnesses called 999 after the incident at the junction of the Black Fan Road and Cole Green Lane in WGC.

Three cars were involved in the smash just after 9am today (Thursday).

Police closed Black Fan Road at its junction with the A414 and Sylvan Way for around an hour, but have since reopened them.

The three children are all believed to be aged under 10 years.

Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said they were alerted to Black Fan Road near to the junction of Cole Green Lane at 9.10am.

Ambulance crews from Bishop’s Stortford, Hertford, and four from WGC attended the scene.

He said: “A total of four casualties were conveyed to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage and the QE2 Hospital in WGC.

“All the injuries sustained are believed to be minor.”
