A 26-year-old man died following a stabbing in Welwyn Garden City last night (Sunday) police have confirmed.

A man, aged 52, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Both men were from Welwyn Garden City, police confirmed in a statement this morning (Monday).

Officers were called to Guinness House, Little Hardings, shortly after 6.30pm following a call from a member of the public.

Paramedics also responded, but the man died at the scene.

A police cordon has been put around the immediate area where the incident took place while police carry out inquiries.

Any witnesses or anyone with information about the killing are asked to contact Detective Constable Donna Norris via the non-emergency number 101, citing crime reference B1/14/740.
