University of Hertfordshire students feared to be among injured in bus crash

University of Hertfordshire students are believed to be among score of people hurt in a bus crash this morning (Monday).

The collision, between a UNO bus and a car took place at around 8.25am on the A1081 (St Albans Road), between South Mimms and Barnet. The East of England Ambulance Service said 45 people were injured in the crash.

A spokesman for the University of Hertfordshire said: “We are aware that a number of students were travelling on an UNO bus involved in a road traffic incident this morning on the A1081 in Barnet.

“Members of the university community are being supported by the Office of Dean of Students.”

• A 41 year old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
