UKIP’S former electoral candidate for the Welwyn Hatfield Parliamentary constituency will share a platform with party leader Nigel Farage, in Hertfordshire.

David Platt, who stood for the UK Independence Party (UKIP) in Welwyn Hatfield at the 2010 General Election, will appear at the meeting with Mr Farage, in Hoddesdon on Thursday.

Mr Platt, who gained 1,643 votes at the election, will also be joined by Stuart Agnew MEP, whose European Parliamentary constituency also covers Welwyn Hatfield.

Mr Platt also took part in the WHT-organised election hustings at the Forum venue at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield.

The theme of the Eurosceptic gathering at the Mayhem Theatre Arts, Brewery Yard, Brewery Road, is to be ‘Why it is time to Leave the EU’.

The event is free and open to the public.
