Police want to speak to this man about a theft on September 2

A BRAZEN thief announced he was going to steal a crate of beer from a WGC supermarket before walking off with the booze.

The theft happened on Sunday, September 11, at around 2.45pm at Nisa supermarket in Haldens.

A man walked into the store, picked up a pack of Fosters lager and told a member of staff he was going to steal it.

He then walked out of the store with the beer towards the Mundells roundabout, without paying.

It was the second theft to take place in the store in just over a week.

On Friday, September 2, a man walked into the store at around 6.30pm and took a large amount of Mayfair cigarettes before leaving the store without paying.

Police have now released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the thefts.

Pc Paul Edmondson, from Welwyn Hatfield Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We are really keen to speak to the people in the footage as they may be able to assist the investigation, or for anyone who recognises them to get in touch.

“We would also ask if anyone knows anything about the incidents to please contact us.”

Call Pc Edmondson on the non-emergency number 101 with more information.
