Emergency services streamed to the A1(M) near Hatfield after a crash.
The two-vehicle accident on Saturday evening northbound between Junction 3 and 4 involved a “smoking car that had appeared to have rolled several times”, according to an ambulance service spokesman.
Three fire engines, three ambulance crews and police were all sent to the scene at just gone 10pm, where two people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
They were then taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage.
