Two people were taken to hospital after two cars were involved in a collision in Welwyn Garden City.

Police were called at 6.12pm on Sunday, October 16 to a collision on the junction between Digswell Road and Bessemer Road.

Firefighters from Welwyn Garden City were called at 6.23pm.

Three people were involved. The fire crew rescued one woman who was trapped and provided trauma care to a man who was injured.

Two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were called to the scene at 6.06pm.

Two men were taken to Lister Hospital by the ambulance service. They both suffered chest and back injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening.

Police closed the road at the junction with Knightsfield and left the area by 8.45pm.
