Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision in Welwyn Garden City

A grey Chevrolet was in collision with a silver BMW at 1.49pm today.

One person was trapped inside one of the cars and the fire crews carried out trauma care while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

The roof of the car was removed using cutting equipment and the car battery was isolated.

Two people were taken to hospital in an ambulance for treatment.

The road was closed in both directions up to the junction with Bridge Road East.
