Two men have been charged with burglary following two alleged break-ins in Potters Bar on Friday, November 6.

Nikolli Alket, aged 28, and Luka Eraldo, aged 21, both of no fixed address, were charged with two counts of burglary on Friday and remanded to appear before Hatfield Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday).

The charges followed a report of a burglary on Friday, when it is alleged that shortly before 6pm two offenders forced entry to a house on Auckland Road through a rear door.

The owner of the property came home and chased the offenders away before calling the police. The offenders allegedly took cash and jewellery.

Officers made arrests in connection with the incident after a PCSO from the Potters Bar Safer Neighbourhood Team spotted two men in the town centre area while on patrol.

Alket and Eraldo have also been charged in relation to another reported burglary on Friday. At around 11am in Cambridge Drive, Potters Bar, it is alleged that offenders scaled a flat roof before breaking into a first-floor flat and taking jewellery.

The pair have been remanded in custody following the court appearance yesterday. A date has not been set for the next hearing.
