Police are treating the 35-year-old woman's death as unexplained


Two men have been arrested following the sudden death of a woman in Hatfield.

The duo were arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs after the 35-year-old died.

The tragedy unfolded on Friday, when the woman – who has not yet been named by police – was taken ill in public toilets close to Queensway House, in Queensway.

Police said today (Sunday) it happened between 1.25pm and 2.40pm.

Paramedics were called, but the woman died at the scene.

Police are currently treating the death as unexplained.

A post mortem has yet to be carried out.

A 35-year-old man from Welwyn Garden City and a 29-year-old man of no fixed abode were arrested in connection with this incident on suspicion of supplying a Class A drug. They have been released on police bail.

Det Sgt Jason Rusbridge, investigating, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and saw anything happen to get in touch as soon as possible.

“I am also very keen to speak to anyone who feels they may have information about the incident that could help us with our enquiries.
