Eyewitnesses have described how earlier today, travellers took over a section of Tesco car park in Oldings Corner, Hatfield.

Police arrived on the scene.

A member of the public told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “The individuals were asked to leave by police and shortly after they moved on.

“They then moved to Hatfield cadets car park [Woods Avenue, Hatfield] and police attempted to stop them.

“They attempted to park in Asda Hatfield but they were asked to move on.”

After a brief return to Woods Avenue, it seems the group has now settled in the Link Drive car park in Hatfield.

The member of the public added: “The Link Drive car park usually overfills during a normal working day.

“Currently, they have pitched up on half of the right hand side of the car park, which leaves only the stake park side free but I believe more caravans are to arrive shortly.”
