PLANS to build a new traveller site on Green Belt land near Hatfield would be quashed under a Conservative administration, MP Grant Shapps has said.
Bulls Lane south, in Bell Bar, has been earmarked as a possible location for the 17 extra traveller pitches the Government expects Welwyn Hatfield Council to provide by 2011.
However, according to Mr Shapps, his party would scrap regional planning if elected, meaning the borough would not automatically have to provide additional traveller pitches.
