A trapped deer in Welwyn Garden City prompted a fire service operation this morning (Monday).

A crew from Welwyn Garden City Fire Station was called to Peartree Lane after the animal was spotted with its head caught in a fence.

The call came in shortly after 6.30am.

A fire service spokesman said the deer was free by 6.50am.
