The M25 near Potters Bar will be closed overnight next week to allow resurfacing work to take place.

The treacherous stretch between Junction 24 (Potters Bar) and 25 (Enfield) will close from Monday to Thursday between 10pm and 5.30am, and from 11pm on Friday to 6am Saturday.

The work will involve a mixture of lane closures, slip road closures, and full motorway closures.

A Highways England spokesman said: “The resurfacing work involves replacing concrete sections of Britain’s busiest motorway to ensure it continues to provide safe and smooth journeys for drivers.”

Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place whenever the motorway is closed.
