TRAFFIC is backing up along the A1(M) this afternoon (Friday), following an earlier three-vehicle collision.
Police are currently clearing debris from the northbound carriageway between junction six and junction seven after two vans, a white Ford Transit and a Mercedes Vito collided with a silver Peugeot 206 at around 3.30pm.
All three vehicles have been moved to the hard shoulder, and the carriageway has since reopened.
Paramedics are currently at the scene.
A police spokeswoman said traffic was moving slower than usual because of the accident.
