COMMUTERS driving through the Hatfield tunnel this morning (Thursday) were delayed by a swan which had found its way on to the road.
After six drivers put in calls to police, the force joined the Highways Agency in creating a rolling road block down one lane of the A1(M) trying to rescue the bird at 7.10am.
However a spokeswoman for Herts police said it was presumed the feathered friend had made a fortunate escape as it could not be found after five minutes of searching.
