Highways England is warning road users that one lane will be closed on the A1(M) next week for necessary repairs.

One lane, out of three, will be closed in both directions between Junction 4 and Junction 6 of the A1(M) from 10pm on Monday, August 1.

A temparary reduced speed limit of 50mph will also be in place for the duration of the work.

The lane closures and speed limit are in place in order to safely facilitate repairs to barriers in the central reserve following a road traffic collision.

The work will last for up to eight days and will be in place for 24 hours a day. Road users are advised to plan their journeys and allow extra time while the work is completed.
